Appointments
Serin Anderson has been appointed collection development and administrative services librarian at the University of Washington Tacoma Library at the University of Washington-Seattle.
Maria Bonn, who currently serves as the director of the Scholarly Publishing Office at the University of Michigan Library, has been named associate university librarian for publishing at the University of Michigan.
Liorah Golomb has been appointed the humanities librarian at the University of Oklahoma Libraries.
Sean Heyliger is now university archivist at the University of Texas-San Antonio.
Heather Lambert has been appointed user services librarian/emerging technology at the James E. Walker Library of Middle Tennessee State University.
Juli McLoone is now special collection librarian at the University of Texas-San Antonio.
Cynthia Tobar has been appointed meta-data librarian for the Mina Rees Library at the City University of New York Graduate Center.
Retirements
Hannelore B. Rader, dean of libraries at the University of Louisville (UL), has retired. Rader has 41 years of library, administrative, and teaching experience in higher education. At UL, Rader has overseen many changes in the library system, such as the libraries’ entry into the Association of Research Libraries; the Ekstrom Library wing addition; renovation of the main floors of Ekstrom and Kornhauser libraries; acquisition of the libraries’ 2-millionth volume, GOAT: Greatest of All Times, a Tribute to Muhammad Ali; installation of a robotic retrieval system that keeps books that would have to be stored offsite easily at hand; extended-hour study area for students; and development of the Learning Commons to provide better services for students. Rader also presented workshops nationally and internationally in such places as South Africa and China, and she has been published in more than 100 publications on information literacy and library administrative issues. Prior to joining UL in 1997, Rader was director of the university library at Cleveland State University (1987–96); director of the library/learning center at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Kenosha (1980–87); and held several positions at Eastern Michigan University. She was the 1999 ACRL Academic and Research Librarian of the Year. She also received the ACRL Miriam Dudley Award for Bibliographic Instruction and the ACRL/EBSS Distinguished Education and Behavioral Sciences Education Award (1995). Rader served as ACRL President from 1986 to 1987.
