Ellen Broidy,history, film studies, and classics librarian at the University of California-Irvine (UCI), has received a 1997 Lauds and Laurels Award from the UCI Alumni Association in recognition of her substantial and ongoing contributions to the UCI community.
Ching-chih Chen
Ching-chih Chen,professor in the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at Simmons College, has been appointed to President Clinton’s 20-member Advisoiy Committee on High-Performance
Computing and Communications, Information Technology, and the Next Generation Internet. The committee was established to provide guidance and advice to the president’s National Science and Technology Council’s Committee on Computing, Information, and Communications. A fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, Chen was chosen in February as the first ALISE/Pratt-Severn National Faculty Award recipient by the Association for Library Information Science Education (ALISE).
