The Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC) and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA) are presenting “The New Museum Climate: Standards and Technologies,” April 25- 26, 1996, at the MFA. The program will emphasize practical considerations of climate control in museums (e.g., balancing different needs for different media, micro- and macro-environments, climate monitoring, cost/benefit analysis, and working with facilities staffs). Stefan Michalski (Canadian Conservation Institute) will present the paper “Changing Standards for Environmental Control,” addressing the recently controversial issue of appropriate standards for museum environments.

The registration fee is $150 and participation is limited. For more information, contact Steve Dalton, NEDCC, 100 Brickstone Square, Andover, MA 01810-1494; phone: (508) 470- 1010; fax: (508) 475-6021. ■
