This month’s cover is a photograph taken ca. 1957 showing a patron perusing a book from the stacks of the George Arents Rare Book Room in the Carnegie Library at Syracuse University. The image is part of the Carnegie Library Centennial Digital Collection, which was created in 2007 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the library. Syracuse University’s Carnegie Library is one of the few remaining active academic libraries funded by Andrew Carnegie. It currently houses the Science and Technology and Mathematics Libraries and the Mathematics Department.

The photographs were digitized from the Syracuse University Archives’ collection of campus building photographs. The entire collection may be viewed at library.syr.edu/information /scitechlib/carnegie100/index.html.
