“The hand-colored photographs in the Pattern Seekers were created from 1980 to 1982,” notes Powell. “Rather than photographing the world around me, I was interested in layering information (forms, patterns, markings, fragments of images and words) through which a mix of languages and signs would be created; a cross fertilization of symbols and meanings.” © Dan Powell.
