Trevor A. Dawes, vice provost for libraries and museums and May Morris University Librarian at the University of Delaware Library, Museums and Press, is the 2026 ACRL Academic/Research Librarian of the Year. Dawes exemplifies excellence in academic and research librarianship through his leadership, service, scholarship, and passion for the profession. Dawes has an extensive record of service to ALA/ACRL and the profession, including serving as ACRL president, a member of the ALA Executive Board, and president of the Association of Research Libraries. An author and presenter, Dawes has written or edited books, chapters, and articles, and has presented at local, national, and international conferences. His publications include work on leadership in academic libraries, diversity, and organizational development.
