ACRL’s Fifth National Conference

“Building on the First Century” will be the theme of ACRL’s Fifth National Conference, April 6-8, 1989, to be held in Cincinnati, Ohio. That year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the College Library Section of the American Library Association, ACRL’s direct ancestor. In announcing the theme, conference co-chair Martha Bowman stated, “We want to link the past with the future, and the 100th anniversary of the College Library Section gives us an excellent opportunity for reflection, for celebration, and for anticipation of the next 100 years.”

The conference will feature a combination of national speakers, contributed papers, and social events. The “Call for Papers” is now available and may be requested from the ACRL Fifth National Conference, 50 E. Huron, Chicago, IL 60611. The deadline for sending a notice of intent to submit a paper is June 1, 1988. The deadline for submitting the full paper is July 31, 1988. Papers will be selected through a blind referree process.
