Running Titles
To the Editor:
I noticed with great pleasure the addition of a running title on each page of recent issues of C&RL News. This is a welcome addition to the format, especially valuable since I often photocopy pages to share with my staff and with faculty on campus. Please don’t drop this very convenient improvement in your news magazine.—Steve Marquardt, Director of Libraries, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Missing Manuscripts
To the Editor:
Please alert your readers to the following materials which have been missing from the library of Keble College, Oxford, since before 1964.
The bulk of the missing material is the manuscript correspondence of Dr. Thomas Wilson (d. 1784), the son of the famous Thomas Wilson, bishop of Sodor and Man. The correspondence is bound in four volumes, three containing letters to Wilson and one of letters from him. No detailed description of the correspondence exists but it contains a large number of letters from the Irish antideist author John Leland (1691-1766). It is possible that the correspondence also contains material of American interest as the Episcopal clergyman William Dawson (1705-1752) received letters from Wilson, who is known from other sources to have been interested in Colonial affairs. None of the above items are stamped as belonging to Keble College.
Information about the whereabouts of any of the missing items should be sent to Richard Miller, Berrywood House, Donhead St. Andrew, Shaftesbury, Dorset, England, or to The Librarian, Keble Coliege, Oxford. —Richard Miller. ■ ■
RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY
Looking for a chance to discuss your research informally with other librarians and benefit from their feedback? The ACRL Bibliographic Instruction Section’s Research Committee encourages you to take part in ALA’s Library Research Round Table (LRRT) Information Exchange Suite at the 1983 Annual Conference in Los Angeles.
You will have up to an hour in which to make a 30-minute presentation of your work and then respond to questions and suggestions from colleagues. Since almost any research on information search strategy, organization, and retrieval relates to information use, bibliographic instruction librarians are urged to either attend or present their work.
Persons interested in making a presentation should contact Gail Schlachter, ABC-Clio Press, Riviera Campus, 2040 APS, Box 4397, Santa Barbara, CA 93103.
The deadline for securing a time for a presentation is May 23, 1983. ■ ■
