ACRL Officers for 1981—82

DavidC. Weber, director of libraries at Stanford University (Cecil H. Green Library, Stanford University, Stanford, CA 94305), is the forty-third president of the Association of College and Research Libraries. During his one-year term of office, he will preside over the ACRL Board of Directors and the ACRL Executive Committee. He will chair the ACRL Conference Program Planning Committee for the 1982 ALA Annual Conference in Philadelphia and will plan ACRL’s major program at the conference.

David C. Weber

As president of the division, Weber will represent ACRL on the ALA Philadelphia Conference Program Committee. He will also represent ACRL and ALA in their relations with other organizations. Weber has been an active member of ACRL, serving as a member of the Board of Directors and the committees on Academic Status, Urban University Libraries, and Liaison with Accrediting Agencies. He has been a member of several other ALA and division committees and has served on ALA Council.

CarlaJ. Stoffle, assistant chancellor for educational services, University of Wisconsin-Parkside (Kenosha, WI 53141), has been elected vice-president/p resident-elect of the Association of College and Research Libraries. The June 1981 election results showed 1,335 votes for Stoffle and 946 for Richard A. Olsen, director of the library, Rhode Island College, Providence.

As vice-president/president-elect of ACRL, Stoffle will serve on the ACRL Board of Directors and the ACRL

Executive Committee. She will chair the ACRL Planning Committee and the ACRL Conference Program Planning Committee for the 1983 Annual Conference in Los Angeles. She will represent ACRL on the ALA Appointments Committee, the ALA Planning and Budget Assembly, and the ALA Conference Program Planning Committee for the 1983 conference. At the end of the 1982 Annual Conference, she will become ACRL’s forty-fourth president.

Stoffle has contributed to ACRL as a member of the Bibliographic Instruction Section’s Program and Executive Committees, as chair of the College Library Section, and as a member of the 1980 Academic or Research Librarian of the Year Award Committee. She has also been active in Wisconsin and regional library associations and has co-authored two workbooks dealing with bibliographic instruction in subject disciplines.
