Carla Stoffle
Carla Stoffle, dean of libraries and the Cen- ter for Creative Photography at the University of Arizona (UA), has been selected by the Arizona Library As- sociation as the Arizona Librarian of the Year, 2000-01. She has been acting director of the School of Information Resources and Library Sciences since August 1999. In this position, Stoffle addressed faculty and budget concerns that threatened the accreditation of the school. Her actions resulted in the ALA’s Committee of Accreditation’s withdrawal of a petition to have the library school’s accreditation removed.
