Cenko Prize in Ukrainian Bibliography

The Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute is accepting submissions for the sixth award of the Cenko Prize in Ukrainian Bibliography. The $1,000 annual prize, established by Mykola and Volodymyra Cenko of Philadelphia will be given for the best bibliographical work on a topic of Ukrainian studies. Entries in English or Ukrainian must be submitted in four copies by March 1,1986. Manuscripts must be in their final pre-publication form, with the names and addresses of authors. Published works and late submissions will not be considered.

The Cenko Prize Committee will judge the entries according to the following criteria: 1) the importance and originality of the topic; 2) the work’s methodology and completeness; 3) the work’s contribution to existing bibliographical scholarship. The winner or winners will be announced at Harvard University no later than June 1986.

The fifth Cenko Prize was awarded this year to Vadym Stelmashenko, of New York, for his work entitled, Volodymyr Vynnychenko: An Annotated Bibliography. Volodymyr Vynnychenko (1880- 1951) was a prominent Ukrainian novelist, playwright, statesman, and political leader.
