23-26—Catholic Libraries: The 63d Annual Catholic Library Association Convention, Boston Park Plaza Hotel. Theme: “Freedom Our Heritage: Peace Our Challenge.” Specific emphases will include computer technology; the academic librarian’s role in promoting peace and justice; and the organization and maintenance of special collections. 30-May 1—Non-print Materials: Joint workshop, Music OCLC Users Group and the Online Audiovisual Catalogers, to be held at OCLC, 6565 Frantz Road, Dublin, Ohio. 3-4—Online Catalogs: “Management of the Online Catalog,” an institute sponsored by LAMA/ ALA, the University of Wisconsin School of Library and Information Science, and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. The program will be held at the Wisconsin SLIS, Curtin Hall, Room 175, 3243 N. Downer Ave., Milwaukee. The institute is directed toward trustees and library administrators who are considering use of the online catalog. This is an introductory course for librarians and bookdealers. Topics include pricing and appraisals, bibliographic description, the auction market, and book dealer/librarian relationships.
