RLG publishes archives microfilming manual
The Research Libraries Group (RLG) has published the RLG Archives Microfilming Manual. Written by Nancy E.
Elkington and based, in part, on the 1992 RLG Preservation Microfilming Handbook, this new manual covers preser- vation microfilming of manu- scripts and other archival materials. It specifically ad- dresses the singular problems of selection, preparation, filming, and access for these collections.

NISO distributes proceedings on paper aging
The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) is distributing the Proceedings of the ASTM Institute for Standards Research Workshop on the Effects of Aging on Printing and Writing Papers. The workshop, sponsored by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and held July 6-8, 1994, provided an international forum for discussing the deterioration of paper. The published proceedings include 18 scientific papers on such topics as paper permanence, chemical deterioration, artificial and natural aging, and cooperative research programs.

ARL statistics available on Internet
The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) has made its .1A7' Statistics, 1992-93 available over the Internet. The statistics cover 48 data categories for 108 university and 11 non-university members of ARL.
The statistics may be retrieved on World Wide Web at http://arl.cni.org/ or by gopher from arl.cni.org (select Statistics) or by ftp from ftp.lib.virginia.edu (login as anonymous, then cd to pub/socsci/arlstats/1993).
RUN loads EROMM database
The Research Libraries In- formation Network (RLIN) has loaded the European Register of Microform Mas- ters (EROMM) database to its bibliographic database of more than 60 million items. The EROMM records repre- sent the microfilming activ- ity of a number of European countries and are intended to facilitate international mi- crofilming activity. The data are current as of August 1993 and future loads are anticipated.
AMIGOS to sponsor third preservation management seminar
AMIGOS Bibliographic Council, Inc. will host the third Preservation Management for College Libraries Seminar in the Southwest during the summer of 1995. The College Libraries Committee of the Commission on Preservation and Access and SOLINET, the Southeastern Libraries Network, developed this very successful program and offered it at Washington and Lee University in 1991 and Wellesley College in 1993.
The seminar is designed to assist college librarians with part-time responsibility for preservation to develop effective preservation programs. Emphasis is placed on understanding institutional needs, creating realistic solutions to problems, and developing an information network that provides support after the seminar ends.
