6-Novemberl7—SLIS:The University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Library and Information Studies’ Certificate of Professional Development program provides an organized continuing education curriculum for librarians and information specialist. Most courses will be held on the University of Wisconsin campus. Workshop may be taken on an individual basis or may be applied toward the certificate of Professional Development. This is a Non-credit program that provides Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from the University of Wisconsin. Information literacy articles needed

Barbara Ford, ACRL vice-president/president-elect, has declared information literacy to be the theme of her 1990-1991 presidential term. Individuals are invited to submit articles on this topic for a series that will appear in C&RL News beginning next fall. Topics that might be addressed include information literacy and social issues, lifelong learning, consumer literacy, political literacy, or information literacy and the curriculum.
