APPOINTMENTS

Molly Ambose is now a cataloger on the staff of the Syracuse University libraries.

Cynthia Angelides is now a photographic reference assistant in Widener Library’s photographic division at Harvard.

Edward F. Bachman has joined the staff of Syracuse University libraries as manuscript processor.

Paul D. Barton, Jr., has been appointed humanities reference librarian at the University of Arizona library.

Mrs. Sheila Bertram has accepted a position on the staff of the school of library science of the University of Alberta,

Mrs. Ethel Bloesch has been appointed administrative assistant at the school of library science, University of Iowa, Iowa City.

Linda Buescher was appointed as a cataloger at Northeast Missouri State College, Kirksville, June 23, 1969.

Frances Carducci has been appointed assistant order librarian in the Syracuse University libraries.

Mrs. Glenda DeBroff has been selected as the first recipient of the Elva S. Smith Scholarship to be awarded annually by the graduate school of library and information science at the University of Pittsburgh.

Mrs. Cathrine Erston was appointed as a reference librarian in the Syracuse University libraries effective October 27, 1969.

Mildred Frankep is now social science librarian in the Bureau of Governmental Research and Service library at the University of Oregon.

Robert W. Getty accepted appointment effective November 1, 1969, as operations manager of the Audiovisual Media Center at the University of Oregon library.

Mrs. Judith R. Harding has accepted an appointment as reference librarian for documents in the document and microtext division in Widener Library at Harvard.

Laona Kay Harris has joined the staff of the library of the State University of New York at Stony Brook as a senior cataloger.

Mrs. Idabel V. Hathorn is now assistant cataloger in the Melville Library at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

Mary E. P. Henderson has accepted a position as visiting professor at the school of library science of the University of Alberta. She will teach in the areas of literature of the humanities and academic librarianship.

Joseph Horner is now the computer librarian in the Health Sciences Center at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

Stephen Jones has been appointed medical librarian of Morrisania Hospital, Bronx, New York.

Walton E. Kabler has been appointed assistant college librarian for Planning, Development and Resources at San Fernando Valley State College.

David Kuhner is now assistant librarian for science in The Claremont Colleges’ Honnold Library.

Charlotte Levy has joined the catalog division of the City College library, City University of New York.

John Lindsey has been appointed to the position of law librarian and associate professor of law at Syracuse University.

Mrs. Sara McCain was appointed associate curator and cataloger of manuscripts in the Syracuse University libraries.

Abbas Mazaher has accepted a position as director of the Tehran Book Processing Centre.

Richard Aaron Mead has been named assistant executive officer of The New York Public Library. His duties will be primarily concerned with work in increasing public understanding and support of The New York Public Library.

John J. Miskell has been appointed to the library catalog staff at Northeast Missouri State College, Kirksville.

Maurice R. Montgomery, Jr., is assistant librarian for collection development in the school of education library at Harvard.

Harry Newsom has joined the staff of the school of library science of the University of Alberta as public library specialist.

Mary J. O’Brien is assistant acquisition librarian in the law school library at Harvard.

Elizabeth Petro has accepted a position as cataloger in the Syracuse University libraries.

Donald Petty is now director of library research and planning at Syracuse University libraries.

Richard Ploch, formerly curator of rare books and special collections at Brandeis University, has been appointed chief special collections librarian at the University of Arizona library.

Andre Preibish joined the staff of the Syracuse University libraries as head of area studies on May 1, 1969.

Edward W. Quinn has been appointed chief of the science reference department of the John Crerar Library.

Mrs. Tereze Rancans is assistant librarian for the cataloging division at the State University of New York Maritime College.
