19-21—Management: Public Administration Institute in Management Development, Holiday Inn, Lubbock, sponsored by the Texas State Library. Registration limited to 40. The institute is designed for experienced librarians who currently hold management positions in all types of libraries and for managers who supervise other professionals, direct medium-sized libraries, or manage departments or units. 26-30—Preservation: Conference and hands-on workshop, sponsored by ALA/RTSD, with the cooperation of the LC National Preservation Program, will be held at the History Corner, Stanford University, Stanford, California. 10-December 10—Preservation: “Conservation Management for Libraries and Archives,” a course offered by the Graduate School of Library and Information Science, Simmons College. Classes meet Tuesdays from 9-12. The course will draw upon the expertise and resources of the Northeast Document Conservation Center in Andover. A hands-on session and trips to NEDCC are included.
