ALA Representatives

AT INAUGURATIONS, DEDICATIONS, AND OTHER ACADEMIC CEREMONIES

Alphonse Trezzarepresented ALA at the inauguration of Rev. Vincent Negherbon as president of Saint Francis College, Loretto, Pa., on Aug. 24. On Sept. 22, Richard Logsdon represented ALA at the bicentennial celebration of Rutgers University; and on Oct. 1, Bernard Rink attended the inauguration of S. Douglas Cornell as president of Mackinac College. Hal H. Smith was the ALA representative at the inauguration of the Rev. Douglas G. Trout as president of Tusculum College on Oct. 4; at the inauguration of Carl Gustaf Fjellman as president of Upsala College on Oct. 4; Norman D. Stevens represented ALA. On Oct. 15 William A. Pease represented ALA at the inauguration of Robert A. Christie as president of Millersville (Pa.) State College, and J. Elias Jones, at the inauguration of William Terril Higdon as president of Graceland College.

Ralph H. Parker on Oct. 19 was the ALA representative at the inauguration of W. Merle Hill as president of Christian College, Columbia, Mo.; Richard L. Snyder was the representative at the dedication of Paley library of Temple University on Oct. 21. Also on Oct. 21, Eugenia Maddox represented ALA at the inauguration of Robert B. Kamm as president of Oklahoma State University.

Mrs. Frances Shine represented ALA at the dedication of the William J. Hutchins library of Berea College on Oct. 25. On Oct. 27, Ralph H. Hopp was the delegate of ALA at the inauguration of the Rev. Monsignor Terrence J. Murphy as president of the College of St. Thomas; and on Oct. 28, Robert Fetvedt represented ALA at the inauguration of Samuel Gerald Gates as president of Wisconsin State University, LaCrosse. On Oct. 28, Robert W. Orr attended the ceremonies inaugurating Paul Frederick Sharp as president of Drake University. James Holly was the representative of ALA at the inauguration on Oct. 29 of Robert H. Wick as president of Saint Cloud State College. James M. Hillard represented ALA at the inauguration of Walter Raleigh Coppedge as president of the College of Charleston on Oct. 29.

On Nov. 1, at ceremonies inaugurating Grover E. Murray as president of Texas Technological College, Mabel E. Willoughby represented ALA. On Nov. 5, at Youngstown University’s inaugural of Albert Pugsley as president, Martha Cox represented ALA.
