Appointments
Trisha Mileham has been named dean of the library at Valparaiso University. Mileham has been serving as the dean of the library in an interim capacity since April 2018. Mileham joined the Valparaiso faculty in 1998, was promoted to associate professor in 2004, and was granted tenure in 2005. In 2008, she was named director of research services, managing the team-based department that encompasses library instruction, reference, circulation, programming, and outreach services. Previously, she served as advisor for the exploratory major and has taught in the Valpo Core program. She also serves as a mentor for pre-tenure cohort librarians. In 2018, Mileham was selected to be a Library Senior Fellow at UCLA. This international cohort of 17 top managers of academic libraries participated in a three-week residential program that combines management perspectives, strategic thinking, and practical and theoretical approaches to the issues confronting academic institutions and their libraries.

Gail Barton has joined Auburn University Libraries as head of the interlibrary loans/document delivery department.
Richard Cho has been appointed research librarian for humanities and literature at the University of California-Irvine Libraries.
Jenna Dufour has been appointed research librarian for visual arts at the University of California-Irvine Libraries.
Nicole Helregel has joined the Purchase College (SUNY) Library as the student success librarian.
Deaths
Wanda V. (Victoria) Dole, retired dean of the Ottenheimer Library at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock, has died. Dole held library positions at the University of Kentucky, the University of Illinois-Chicago, the University of Miami, Abington College Library (Pennsylvania State University), the State University of New York-Stony Brook, and Washburn University. Subsequent to her retirement, Dole was the interim director of library services at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, Illinois. She held committee appointments with ALA for many years, including serving elected terms on ALA Council. She was also an official ALA representative to the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA). In her role as chair of the IFLA Statistics Section, she served on the IFLA Governing Board and the IFLA Professional Committee. Dole was a highly regarded speaker and authored many publications. Her areas of interest included strategic planning and assessment, as well as quantitative analysis of statistics. She spoke at many national and international conferences.
