Appointments

Michelle Crawley has been named head of clinical, academic, and research engagement at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill’s Health Sciences Library.

Sarah Henderson has joined Monmouth College Hewes Library as library director. Henderson served as serials/reference librarian and access services manager in Hewes Library from 2003 to 2006. Most recently, she served as chair of the Gordon B. Olson Library at Minot State University in Minot, North Dakota.

Negeen Aghassibake is now data visualization librarian at the University of Washington Libraries.

Suzan Alteri is now associate university librarian at the University of Florida’s George A. Smathers Library.

Amy Buhler has been appointed university librarian at University of Florida’s George A. Smathers Library.

Alaina Bull is now first year experience librarian at the University of Washington Libraries.

Brian Keith has been named senior associate in libraries at University of Florida’s George A. Smathers Library.

Nancy Lovas is now entrepreneurship and business librarian at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Libraries.

Lauren Martiere has been named coordinator of reference services and reference/instruction librarian at Mississippi College’s Leland Speed Library.

Siobhan McKissic has been appointed archives and literary manuscripts specialist in the Rare Book and Manuscript Library at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Alisa Monheim has been named public service librarian at the University of Washington Libraries.

Amy Pajewski has been appointed student success librarian at West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

Marisa Petrich has been named instructional design librarian at the University of Washington Libraries.

Christina Pryor is now Missouri coordinator for the National Network of Libraries of Medicine in the Midcontinental Region for the University of Missouri Libraries.

Steven Pryor has been named librarian in the research, access services, and instruction department at the University of Missouri Libraries.

Retirements

Jerilyn Marshall has retired as head of research and user services at Rod Library, University of Northern Iowa after 20 years of service. Prior to moving to Iowa, Marshall worked as reference/instruction librarian at Schaffner Library, Northwestern University; the University of Kentucky; and the Newberry Library. While earning an MLS at Vanderbilt University she held an intern position at the Heard Library there. Prior to graduate library school she worked as a library assistant at the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Education (HSSE) Library at Purdue University. She has been active in several ALA groups through the years, especially with the ACRL Distance Learning Section (formerly Extended Campus Library Services Section), which she joined at its inception in 1990.

J. Richard “Rick” Sayre has retired as library director at Monmouth College, after 20 years of service. Sayre’s first professional position in 1977 was with the Oklahoma College of Osteopathic Medicine in Surgery, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Following a move to Indiana, he served Indiana University Libraries (1977–82) as ERIC Probe librarian, general reference librarian, and reference and instruction librarian. While at Indiana University, he worked with Robert Goehlert to compile two published bibliographies: U.S. Congress: A Bibliography (Free Press, 1982) and Members of Congress: A Bibliography (Congressional Quarterly, 1996). In 1982 he returned to his alma mater, Phillips University, in Enid, Oklahoma, where he served as Zollars librarian until 1998. There he received the Professor Glenn Doyle Excellence in Teaching Award in 1995. In 1998, Sayre was appointed as library director of Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois, where he oversaw a $7 million dollar renovation of Hewes Library that introduced significant improvements, including a coffee shop and many technological innovations to the library. While at Monmouth, he served on the Board of the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries of Illinois.
