This month’s cover image is of Fred Brusati, an electrician who worked on the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge, which celebrates its 75th anniversary this year. Brusati was interviewed in 1987 during the 50th anniversary of the bridge as part of the San Francisco State University Labor Archives and Research Center’s (LARC) “The Building of the Golden Gate Bridge Project.”

The LARC collection documents the labor movement in the nine counties of the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California. More than 6,000 feet of primary source material, primarily from the 20th century, is available for research. In addition to the records of the San Francisco, San Mateo, and Alameda County Central Labor Councils, the collection includes material from a wide variety of area labor groups.

More information on the archive is available at www.library.sfsu.edu/about/depts/larc.php.
