Appointments

Howard Prager joined the ACRL staff in February 2017 as senior leadership and change strategist, providing consulting services to academic and research libraries to strategically grow and align their programs and services with their institutions. Prior to joining ACRL, Prager worked in executive education at the University of Notre Dame and Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, and played a significant role in learning and development as a leadership and change consultant in his own practice and for several leading Fortune 500 firms. He is also a lead training certificate assessor for the American National Standards Association.

Lynn Eaton has been appointed director of the Special Collections Research Center at the George Mason University Libraries.

Jan O. Rice is now director of library services at the Bryan College of Health Sciences Library in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Roxanne Backowski has been appointed electronic resources management librarian for McIntyre Library at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

Stephanie Grimm has been appointed art and art history librarian in the George Mason University Libraries.

Chad Haefele has been appointed head of user experience and assessment at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Library.

Vickie Karasic has been appointed managing librarian of the Weigle Information Commons and has also taken on liaison and bibliographer responsibilities for French and Francophone Studies at the University of Pennsylvania Libraries.

Christine Stachowicz is now director of technical services at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Library.

Fei Yu has been named health information technology librarian at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill’s Health Sciences Library.

Retirements

Sharon Mader completed her term as ACRL visiting program officer for information literacy at the end of January 2017. Mader worked with the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy Advisory Board on developing resources to promote the use of the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education, including the Framework Sandbox. ACRL and FAB extend their heartfelt thanks to Mader for her leadership and mentorship over the last two years in her support of the Framework.
